Retouching duties include cleaning up the background to remove dust, wax, pins, and other imperfections. Colors are adjusted to match web product and portray merchandise in an "ideal" environment. Highlights and shadows are softened, reflections smoothed out, and metals matched to achieve consistency. Diamonds are emphasized and often the position of merchandise is manipulated to match up with catalog layout. Model images are treated with smoothing of fine lines, blemish removal, flyaway hair cleanup, and evening of skin tones using a frequency separation technique. Images are flattened and converted to a color profile that is formatted for web or print. (Retouching work for physical catalog available upon request). All featured images were retouched by me and distributed publicly.
